The luxury Roman hotel resort upgraded their website with a modern robust multi-language website prepared for peak performance at any resolution.


In a digital first age even well known luxury brands must strive to be first on search, present on social, all over the world in the prime languages, while never losing site of the quality that comes with a high end brand for a leading luxury hotel.


Keeping What Works


The Rome Cavalieri, a Waldorf Astoria hotel, has been the eternal city's premier resort destination for more than 50 years. The website however wasn't in keeping with their high end status.

The hotel sought design and content support that would make the hotel shine online across all modern devices. Flexibility was needed to meet the growing content demands while still maintaining their legacy booking systems from the franchise owners. Getting the messages out to their guests would require a platform that could be easily updated by staff and readily translated for communication to their world wide audience.


Changing What Doesn't


Consulting with the design team at Kontrapunkt, we helped determine the information architecture that would put high quality, high resolution images front and center, while still ensuring a framework friendly to leading search marketing practices.

Performance, flexibility and ease of use demanded a leading CMS with broad support for language tools. A Wordpress installation with WPML would prove to give enterprise level performance with ease of use for the hotel to create, craft and translate new menus and page types.

For best in class front-end we applied responsive animation techniques that promote luxury without going over the top. Performance for page load was a top priority from desktop to mobile to ensure favorable conditions in a competitive search market.

The site was launched just in time for the Italian summer holidays in four languages optimized for search.

With a lifted destination for both search and mobile screens, the site enjoys top search engine results. Development with WordPress WPML means the sites stands ready for deploying to several more translations for the entire website to go with their global marketing push.
